Stay! How to use Baked Goods CBD for dog training

Why Use CBD for Dog Training

CBD has been shown to be safe for dogs, especially for relieving inflamed joints. Studies have not yet explored how CBD can affect dog training; however, many pet owners have noticed positive results when CBD is combined with teaching new tricks.

CBD can be part of a training regime to help your dog stay calm and focused, while potentially reducing chronic pain. Here are some CBD tips to consider as you teach your dog to sit, stay, and shake paw:

  • Start at the lowest dose possible 30 minutes before you begin training. Add a few drops of CBD onto a treat when your pet has completed a task. Do not immediately start your dog with a high dose, as this can cause your dog to be too drowsy to learn new behaviors and tricks.
  • If you your dog is successful in training with CBD, you can slowly tinker back the number of drops. At this point, your dog should hopefully have the new skills in place.
  • Read the label of your CBD oil carefully. Make sure it does not contain THC, as this can cause toxic effects in your dog. Use a product with hemp CBD and make sure the carrier oil is pet-friendly.
  • If your dog is already on medications, make sure you consult with your vet about giving them CBD. You want to make sure to avoid medication interactions in your pet.
