How CBD can help pet grooming

For some dogs, going to the salon can cause separation anxiety, pain around hot spots, and fear of the unknown! Though CBD hasn’t been studied for its impact on dog grooming, there are ways it can improve the grooming regime:

• May promote relaxing effects: Because CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system, it may offer your dog calming effects when exposed to new sights and sounds.
• Could reduce pain: Is your dog suffering from achy joints? CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties could lower pain, which can help reduce salon discomforts (i.e. standing).
• May relieve irritated skin: Itchy skin can make grooming an unpleasant experience. But CBD has been shown to be effective for dogs with atopic dermatitis – read more about this here.

If you’d like to give your pet CBD for grooming, we suggest administering it 30-60 minutes before heading to the salon. Always start with the dose listed on the package. If you need more drops, increase this over time so that your dog gets used to CBD. Also, it’s advised to talk to your veterinarian about avoiding medication interactions.
