Baked Goods Discusses the First Signs of Perimenopause

If you’ve been feeling ‘off’ lately and you’re a woman, please don’t settle for a poor quality of life! At Baked Goods, we encourage you to speak to your healthcare provider about wellness concerns. After all, perimenopause can start as early as your mid-thirties.

Perimenopause is the transitional journey towards menopause, and this can last for several years. During perimenopause, less hormones are produced by the ovaries, which can cause disruptive symptoms to your daily functioning. The first signs of perimenopause may include:

  • Wonky menstrual cycles (i.e. irregular or missed periods)
  • Mood swings
  • Hot flashes and/or night sweats
  • Joint pain
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Urge to urinate frequently
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Brain fog
  • Unexplained weight gain

Again, we urge you to consult with your healthcare provider (i.e. naturopathic and/or conventional practitioners) to improve comfort levels. In fact, CBD is one thing to consider for addressing perimenopausal symptoms. CBD targets the endocannabinoid system (ECS); by effecting ECS receptors, it may ‘intermingle’ with neurotransmitters while helping to lessen inflammation. If you’re currently on medications, please consult with your doctor or pharmacist to avoid interactions between CBD and your current medications.
