Can you mediate with CBD? Baked Goods explains

Between daily obligations and constantly hearing bad news, we’re more stressed than usual! But meditation can support your inner peace, which can positively affect mood, sleep, chronic joint pain, and more. When meditation is combined with the effects of CBD, it’s possible to enhance calming effects.

What is meditation?

Meditation trains your mind to improve focus. It’s been practiced for thousands of years, but its benefits have only been uncovered in the last two decades. Today’s diagnostic techniques have shown that meditation affects brain structure. The Cleveland Clinic reports that the “…brains of people who meditate regularly are healthier and less likely to show age-related loss of function. They also have a stronger ability to deal with and process negative emotions like fear, anger and grief.”

There are different ways to meditate, such as listening to guided imagery, repeating mantras, or focusing on movements (i.e. yoga). When you add CBD to your meditations though, it could enhance relaxation.

What about using CBD for meditation?

Some people have trouble getting comfortable for a meditation, as racing thoughts can interrupt a calming state. CBD targets the endocannabinoid system, which is a network of receptors that regulates various body functions. If you consume CBD 30 minutes to an hour before you meditate, it may help quiet down the “mind chatter”. In turn, this can help you start your meditation and stay relaxed for the whole duration.
